How and when did you accept Christ in your life: As a young person listening to my Grandfather preach about Jesus and the love Christ has for us. Where else have you worked in radio or ministry: In radio, I've worked for: WFLA and WFLZ in Tampa, Florida; WRRM, WGRR, WKRQ, WKRC and WLW in Cincinnati, Ohio; The Gary Burbank Show in Cincinnati, Ohio; and, WUSN in Chicago, Illinois. In ministry, I've worked for Vineyard Community Church in Cincinnati, Ohio and West Chester Wesleyan Church in West Chester, Ohio. College: The University of Tampa in Tampa, Florida Three people you admire: Probably going to go over my lMy Parents, naturally, but also my Grandparents; Rev. Willard & Sarilda Brewer; and Robert & Alice Shelley...along with several adopted and Honorary Grandparents: Troy & Dorothy Elam; and Rev. Wallace & Ann Marshall. Favorite Food: I like anything exotic and spicy...though my little family particularly enjoys Ethiopian and Indian food. Christian Book (besides The Bible) that has influenced you: "The Power of a Positive Mom" by Karol Ladd Favorite Movie: Just one favorite? Hmm...not sure I have ONE favorite movie. Animated movies ("The Iron Giant"), funny movies ("The Princess Bride"), serious movies ("The Queen")...I really just like movies! Person who personally influenced your walk with Christ: I would have to say all of my Grandparents (natural and otherwise). These people exhibit a wonderful, real and practical Christianity in their daily lives, which has influenced me far more than any sermon I've ever heard. It was seeing how these folks praised God in the good times and praised Him in the bad times that really showed me how Christ can anchor one's life. And how you can still have a great sense of humor as you walk with Christ! They have all shown me the meaning of love - true love in Christ - that is as light and breezy as the summer wind, yet more profound than I can ever hope to wrap my head around. Favorite Color: Purple What do you enjoy in your free time: Anything that brings a smile to the face of my beautiful, sweet family! Doesn't matter to me, as long as we're together and enjoying whatever it is we're doing. Typically, we love to be outside to explore and run and play...my children are quite young yet, so getting outside to play is a big part of life for us! Most boring job: Digitizing medical records. Something about me you might not know: I've ridden a motorcycle since I was 6 years old (thanks, Daddy!). I'm the only child, so I could play the piano in a pretty dress, then jump outside and hit the field on my dirt-bike! I once bought a motorcycle and three days later rode it from Cincinnati, Ohio to Silverton, Colorado and back to sing in a wedding! Favorite Verse: Can't decide between Phillipians 4:6, 1 Peter 5:7 and Ephesians 6:13. |
